6. Cooling tissues by use of ice or hosing, prior to ultrasound treatment. 7. Use of inappropriate coupling agent. 8. Applying sub-sensory ultrasound. 9. Moving the sound head too fast. A good, therapeutic rate of movement for the sound head would be about 4 inches per second. 10. Failure to understand local and state regulations regarding therapeutic ultrasound usage.
